Actually, I've already contacted Chevron to protest their activities in
Africa, so it doesn't bother me in this case that you have again shared my
views with them. I have informed Chevron that I would be boycotting their
gas stations until they were more forthcoming about the incident. An email
from Chevron told me they would refer my message to a higher position in
the company, but I've heard nothing from them since.

P.S. The incident of killings was when Chevron authorized use of its
helicopters in Nigeria to transport government troops to an oil platform
which had been seized by local residents protesting the environmental
catastrophe in that region. Two unarmed protesters were killed. I did not
characterize this as "mass murder," words which Phil Cooper tries to put in
my mouth, or on my keyboard.

There are numerous Web postings about Chevron's activities in Africa. One,
on the Corporate Watch Web site, is an article from the San Francisco
Cronicle:
http://www.corpwatch.org/trac/feature/humanrts/cases/nb-chevron.html

People may go to the Chevron Web site for what they claim is an "unbiased"
report on the matter.
