If I grant your point, then why should my hard earned money go to support a 
system that builds highways when I am an environmentalist?  Why should my 
hard earned money go to support a system that builds missiles and tanks 
when I am peace-loving?  Why should my hard earned money go to support a 
system that promotes all kinds of scientific research and endeavors when I 
object to much of this science?

It could just be the fact that I've agreed to live and work in this 
country.  Paying taxes without being able to exert more than a marginal 
influence on government expenditures is part of that.

I'll even bet that some people drop money into the collection plate at 
church, and they don't agree 100% on the way the church spends its 
funds.  Welcome to the system.
