Mis-informed state of public oppinon is correct, there has been a
campain of lies told about firearms and firearm crime for the last 10-
15 years by the so called Media, lies are told blatlently, and they
do not correct them (I recall Dan Rather stating on the News that
the NRA was putting out a .50 Caliber Pistol powerfull enough to
"stop a Rhino", the NRA doesn't make firearms. the pistol in
question was being made by a company in another country, Eagle
Arms (I do believe they are called) out of Isreal), Time Magaziners
has publicaly stated that they will not print a positive firearms
story, Handgun Control Inc considers a 25 year old male using a
illegaly aquired firearm (generaly misidentified by HGI as a "assult
Weapon", ie, a semi-auto .22 rifle) as a "horrible example of
childern killing each other with guns". Mis-informed indeed.

also Access to firearms was constrained in the 60's and violent
crime went up, untill recenlty when more states allows CWP's,
then it started to go down, conincedence? possibly, but the data
dosn't support it. Canada has all but banned firearms (and has
banned handguns), and yet violant crime grows weekly. England
has all but banded Fiearms (and has baned handguns) and Violant
Crime rises, Australia has all but banned Fireamrs, (and has baned
handguns), and Violant Crime Rises. Alcohol was prohibited in this
country by a change to the constitution, yes it caused a rise in
Violant crime and wide spread lawlessness, "drugs" (meaning
those proscribed or controled by law) are prohibited or controlled by
law, yet the "criminal element" and violance continues to grow in
regards to them ask a criminal if they target unarmed targets or
targets that MIGHT have a gun, they say they go for the obviously
unarmed ones. banning something only makes for more crime. if
even the so called "soft drugs" (pot and hash) were legalized,
taxed, and treated as tobbaco and alcohol, then the crimes and
costs would go way way down, no one is going to have a fire fight
over turf to sell pot if you can buy it in the corner store.if you ban
firearms, the same thing will happen, all you will do is drive it
underground, causing more crime and violance, esp since the
criminals will KNOW that there prey is unarmed. (which is what is
now happening in Canada, Home invasions are the "crime of
choice" now.
