The University used to subsidize the Jazz Festival to the tune of
$150,000/yr., not including personnel and buildings.  Zinser had to cut
that (and Idaho Rep) when the state cut university budgets in the early
90s. Such activities are now expected to be self-sustaining from grants,
donations, and ticket sales. Corporations are a prominent source of deep
pockets.

The BSU Library official name is the Albertsons Library (no
possessive).  The principal donation came from the Albertson family, but
some came from the corporation.  The University of Idaho is building the
J.A. Albertson Business Building with funding including a large donation
from the foundation.  The UI Library has the Albertsons Map Room ($ from
the corporation).
