I've spent as much time in Northwest pools as just about anyone, so here
are my 2 cents:

1. We need an indoor pool. This is the Northwest and we simply do not have
enough summer. However, when we do have summer, we want to enjoy it. There
are very creative designs for opening up indoor pools to the out of doors
during the summer--retractable roof, sliding glass walls, etc.

2. We need a 50 meter x 25 yard pool. It would allow for multiple use--use
by Moscow students for swimming, recreational swimming, swim lessons, swim
practice by clubs, high school teams, and college teams, along with
Master's. The UI pool cannot keep up with the demand, and WSU is losing one
of their pools in January, increasing demand there. Check out Boise's. WSU
women's swim team is very interested in such a project and perhaps would be
interested in some kind of collaboration or guaranteed use. There's money
to be made hosting championships meets.

3. I keep hearing about this being funded with a bond issue. I sure wish
more creative forms of funding would be explored or we will end up with a
bare bones 25 yard pool that will be inadequate for this community.
