I concur completely with Lois when she wrote:
"In my peculiar view, much of the purpose of Vision2020 in recent weeks has
been compromised by some people who are more determined to be "right" (or
prove someone else "wrong") than to advance a meaningful discussion of how
Moscow can be improved."
On the other hand, Dale Courtney's statement:
"There *is* a right and wrong in that conversation. It's not a matter of
belittling but acknowledging."
This strikes me as me as "You are either for me or against me" type comment.
Either I am right or you are right? Is that we are doing here - picking
teams? Progress implies a steady improvement or advancement towards a goal.
That rarely occurs without the evolution of ideas and viewpoints. I think it
was Joseph Joubert who said:
"The aim of an argument or discussion should not be victory, but progress."
I hope our goal is here is progress. Unfortunately, too many people in this
world equate victory with progress.
