Ms Lund, being disably retired from the Army, I find your comments to be
absolutely deplorable.  To even imply that our armed forces is not doing
what it is paid to do establishes a whole new level of ignorance.  There
have been a few subscribers to this forum that I have been angry with, but
you Ms Lund are trash.  I lost a very very close friend (a brother you might
say) in Phu Bai, Vietnam in 1972.  I took an early DEROS to return to the
states and take his remains to his parents.  To hear someone like you make
such un-loyal comments as those above burns me up to know end.  Perhaps it
was you (or one of your relatives) that spit on us when we deplaned at
Travis AFB on April 23, 1972.

As far as "opting out" on taxes, to quote the Rev. Jesse Jackson at the 1988
Democratic Convention, "Some of us came here as human cargo on slave ships.
Some of us came here as passengers on great luxury liners.  But tonight we
are all in the same boat together."  I do not desire to "opt out" on paying
my share of taxes.  Instead of examining the "why" of these taxes, perhaps
we should examine how these taxes are spent.  I am certain that alot of my
tax dollar goes into programs that I personally will probably never use.
But knowing that these programs are intact and available for those who need
them is the reason that I willingly pay my share.
