Honestly.  Like Debi, I can't believe the Moscow City Council has wasted 
weeks on this nonsense.  It's made the national news--my mother called from 
North Carolina to say she'd seen it on CNN.  A friend sent me a clipping 
from The Boston Globe.  I got an email yesterday from Grand Junction, 
Colorado.  We're now a laughing stock from Baja to Bangor, and what have we 
actually accomplished?  We've banned the exposure of chest area puffiness on 
any person who is proven to be female.  Hooray!  Strike up the band!  And 
just to prove we're not sexist, men, this is now a crack-free town.  Hitch 
before you squat.

In the meantime, state budget cuts are making a hash of education, health 
and welfare, and our own very local economy.  An estimated twenty million 
will be fleeing this region thanks to cuts to the UI alone: when the 
univerity strikes an iceberg, so sink we all.

And the irony is that unless we pass an ordinance requiring hats for the 
city council, the biggest boobs in Moscow will remain uncovered.
