RE: 7th Graders Islam Studies...Snopes

This is not your typical item found on snopes. There's no clear
determination that it is false reporting. For a clear perspective, you
really need to read the *full* article and not just assume it's an urban
legend because it appears on the snopes website.

Claim: Seventh graders in California are subjected to an intense
three-week course in Islam in which they are required to pray to Allah
and memorize Koran verses.
Status: Not quite.
Origins: Sometimes a clear yes or no answer is impossible to provide,
given the quality of the information available and the complexity of the
underlying issues. And this is one of those times. *snip* Even so, there
is something to what it said. Granted, that "something" is distorted and
overstated, but the core element is present.

See www.snopes.com for further information about this story. As most
urban
legends go, there is some truth hidden in it but lots of smoke.
