I was just curious, did the school district consider charter school service
when they set up the seniority schedule for riffing teachers? I am not a lawyer
nor do I pretend to be one and I do not have an axe to grind in this
discussion, beyond curiousity. I noticed that Title 33 Chapter 52 of the Idaho
statutes states "(3) Certified teachers in a charter school shall be considered
public school teachers. Educational experience shall accrue for service in a
charter school and such experience shall be counted by any school district to
which the teacher returns after employment in a charter school" We have 2
charter schools in this town and I was just curious how this effects teachers
who may have moved from one type of school to the other. If this wasn't
considered what will happen? Can anyone out there answer this question for
me? I can't attend the school board meeting tonight or I would ask it myself.
Maybe one of the board members knows the answer.
