originally the planes including tunneling the water under and building the
whole building on pilings.  At one time they (the power that be) wanted to
have a creek resurface and loop around the building, but they had to scrub
that plan as it would have add around 3 mil to the price tag.  I'm curious
though as to the 'climbing tower' that was supposed to be visible not only
from the campus mall but from Third Street as well.  Maybe it went the route
of the Hartung and was roofed before the money ran out.  Does any one know?
