As a frequent, if new, observer to this forum, I find myself drawn to read
Shahab Mesbah's comments even when I ignore others on the same topic. He
writes well and spends time thinking. If Shahab is a lighning rod it's
because he can articulate the unpopular or politically incorrect viewpoint,
even though he does it with a real and unpatronizing sense of curiosity.
Often he cites views that he himself does not hold, in the belief that only
informed people can make up their own minds.
If it's true that Shahab is going to quit this forum to spend time with
his family, I wish him well. He has certainly spent a lot of time writing!
But I, for one, will miss him speaking his mind, in his wonderful prose
with that faint twinge of accent.
