Family Science Night
Window on the Universe Comes to the Palouse
We're all invited on a "journey from spaceship Earth to places unknown" when the Palouse Discovery Science Center, U. of I. College of Education, and the Idaho Space Grant Consortium sponsor Window on the Universe activities this month. Five space science researchers, sent by the Challenger Center for Space Science Education, will be on the Palouse from April 20- 27 during "Window Week" to present teacher workshops, classroom visits, and family science nights focusing on topics dealing with the wonders of space. Window on the Universe is funded by grants from NASA's Human Exploration and Development of Space Enterprise and Office of Space Science. Here is a brief schedule of the events, all of which are free and open to the public:

Sunday, Apr. 22 - Family Science Night* presentations at the Kenworthy Theater:
2:00 pm - presentation by Dr. Tim Livengood followed by a showing of the film "Forbidden Planet" 6:30 pm - presentation by Dr. Kevin Grazier followed by a showing of the film "Contact"

Monday, Apr. 23 - Family Science Night* at the Clarkston High School Auditorium, Clarkston,WA 6:30 pm - Hands-on activities followed by presentation by Dr. Thomas Troland entitled "Into the Heart of Orion"
Tuesday, Apr. 24 - Family Science Night* at Franklin Elementary School, Pullman, WA 6:30 pm - Hands-on activities followed by presentation by Dr. Tim Livengood entitled "The ABC's of Comets"
*All Family Science Night presentations are suitable for grade 4 & above.
