Open Letter to Don Coombs and Tom Trail

This is an open letter to Don Coombs and Tom Trail:

Gentlemen:

I wish to publicly post a very belated message of `thanks' to you for the
way in which the two of you handled the erroneous campaign ad in this year's
election.  In an era of endless public posturing and verbal assault, I was
heartened by your courtesy towards one another.  I admire the courage you
both demonstrated in  treatiing each other with dignity and respect.  

I have spoken with several people who did not  vote in the Presidential
election.  The reason was voiced by one elderly lady in this fashion: `I
don't like the way they yell at one another.  I raised my kids to treat each
other with respect.   I won't vote for anyone who is supposed to lead but
doesn't have the manners my kids did by the time they started school.'

Perhaps if more voters could witness dignity and grace in our political
campaigns, voter apathy would improve?  I know I would take a much greater
interest in the process!
