Arts Awards/1912 Groundbreaking
Visionaries:
I'd like to announce two events that remind me why I'm glad to live in
Moscow:
THE MAYOR'S AWARDS IN THE ARTS
Tonight (Thursday, Oct. 19) -- University Inn, Gold & Silver Rooms
6 p.m. -- reception (with no-host bar) followed by award presentation.
Winners include Mary Banks, Alfred Dunn and Genevra Sloan for lifetime
achievement in the arts; Bob Greene of Bookpeople for Arts Advocate;
Frank Werner, duck decoy crafter extraordinaire for individual
excellence in the arts; Sally Graves Machlis for excellence in arts
education, and Beth Kenworthy for business benefactor.
The public is invited to join in this celebration of the arts. For more

GROUND BREAKING FOR THE 1912 CENTER
Friday (Oct. 20) -- 11 a.m.
The city will conduct a groundbreaking ceremony for the 1912 Center
construction project. Mayor Comstock invites you to attend and
celebrate this important step forward. The ceremony will be brief and
festive. All will be done within an hour.
