asking the City Council for money

As I understand it, at the Monday (10/23) Council meeting, a variety of local groups
will be asking the Council for money.
Some of those organizations will be requesting support for events, including outdoor
festivals.
I suggest that the Council insist that any festival event requesting our tax money be
required to have a recycling plan in place for that event. Now huge amounts of waste
are generated at these festivals. The successful recycling efforts at the Moscow
Renaissance Fair can be duplicated at any event. And if the event organizers do not
have the commitment to recycling demonstrated by the Renaissance Fair, then I think
the Council should require it.
