Re: Do the Right Thing
Dear Vision2020:
Mumia Abu-Jamal did not receive a fair trial. The prosecutor and the
police hid exonerating evidence, pressured witnesses to testify falsely,
concocted an absurd confession, and, with the aid of a biased judge,
obtained a verdict of death.
Abu-Jamal should get a new trial. If the evidence is there to convict
him after a fair trial, before an impartial judge and jury, then so be
it. Those who side with the prosecution do themselves no credit by
advocating for the death of someone based upon such a sad example if
injustice.
