I will be filing to run for the state house of representatives later
today, and wanted people to know why I probably will be posting
fewer messages on Vision2020. I will be running as a Democrat, for the
position now held by Tom Trail.

I think Tom has "written the book" on using the internet (and list-serves
like Vision 2020) to keep constituents up to date on what's going on at
the legislature. One chapter of that "book" pertains to not moving in on a
list-serve for purely political purposes, and I think that's the right way
to go. Though I will probably be posting less (and getting threatened
less!), I will still value the role Vision2020 plays.

In the past, Vision2020 has facilitated discussion about campaign issues,
sometimes by assembling a list of questions and posing them to both
candidates for a position. I hope that sort of opportunity will be offered
this fall.
