The meeting was "engineered" by the EDC and the City in response to cries,
heard on this list-serve and elsewhere, of "Why can't we have a public
meeting about Alturas!?!", and in response to the level of mis-information
that seems to have found its way into the public sector via indirect means.

The $10 pays for a catered lunch, nothing more. The EDC typically loses
money on the lunch meetings it hosts because often fewer people show up
than RSVP. If you are anyone else prefers not to eat lunch during the
meeting, all you need to do is let the EDC know when you RSVP and it will
not cost anything to attend.

The EDC and the City welcome anyone with questions about Alturas.

Ken, I do hope you can come. I know from being with you at the Saturday
community meeting held at the Unitarian church on Feb 12 that you are
intelligent, committed, and truly do care about the community. It's
important that you and others equally committed to Moscow take advantage of
this opportunity.

Anyone interested in attending the meeting should call Marama at 885-3800,
by Friday of this week (March 31). It will be held at the Eastside
Marketplace at noon on Wednesday, April 5.
