Grass burning forum

The League of Women Voters of Moscow would like to commend 
the county commissioners and other organizers for the grass 
burning forum that was held on Saturday at the high school 
auditorium. The organizers did a fine job of having on the forum 
representatives from the farming community, activists, the medical 
community and state and federal government agency 
representatives.

There was good attendance from community members, and Kenton 
Bird did an excellent job moderating the forum, being timekeeper 
and keeping answers to the questions to a reasonable length. At 
one point he quietly reminded audience members of the need for 
civility (no matter what their personal position on the topic) when 
responding to presentations from members of the forum.

The league was pleased to co-sponsor this forum which served to 
educate the public and present information on a very controversial 
issue.
