Re: re Snow removal by small businesses

My experiences of walking around Moscow in snowy weather suggest that the
larger businesses are worse about keeping their sidewalks clear than the
smaller ones. I have noticed that the larger businesses that pay to have
their parking lots cleared by a person in a pick-up truck often push the
snow onto the sidewalks. Some places such as the University Inn don't
appear to shovel the sidewalk along the highway. Its hard to generalize on
this one, but I have noticed many parking lots and roads that get cleared
at the expense of sidewalks and bike lanes. Bike racks also seem to be a
popular snow dumping ground.
