Re: end of millenium list

I'm weak on Palouse history, but I have several nominations for current
visionaries. Long before the rest of us, these individuals understood
something important about our region's future.

Nancy Mack, for perserverance and foresight in developing the Chipman Trail

Kenna Eaton, for knowing that Moscow residents really would gather at the
new Co-op over great food, despite results of our survey to the contrary

Mary Butters (Paradise Farm Organics) and Bob Greene (Book People), for
taking enormous risks and leaping out of the mainstream in their respective
industries to offer us high quality products and services

Sam Smith, for knowing that WSU-Pullman would only survive with the
statewide political support that comes from branch campuses and learning
centers

Tom Lamar, for Paradise Creek restoration but *especially* for Carol Ryrie
Brink Nature Park, one of Moscow's real gems

Linda Pall and Tom Hudson, for the 1912 Center. Honestly, I used to think
it was a crazy idea, but they have convinced me otherwise.

And finally, Bill London, for Vision 2020.
