Briefly, just want to name a helpful book by Carol Bly, Milkweed Press,
1996: "Changing the Bully Who Rules the World: Reading and Thinking
about Ethics"-- a sampling of chapter sitles: "Good News about Leaders
and Followers," "The Brutality of Lucky Predators," "Genuined Jerks and
Genuine Jerk Organizations," "Evil in the Comfortable Herd," "Evil by
Pain Avoidance and Psychological Sloth," "Culture and Enthusiasm: A
Secret Kept from Most People." Gives encouragement to bringing the
bullies' dark deeds to the light, etc. Also, a very powerful and clear
and motivating article by Bill McKibben in the Dec. 8 or 9 issue of "The
Christian Century" magazine, if you can get your hands on one, title
something like, "The Unraveling of Creation" Just wanted to pass these
things on that have been encouragers and boosts to the work we do up here
in Moscow, Idaho. Keep up the good, never-ending work wherever you
are. You will want to look back from the future and say you acted on your
convictions, not just held on to them in the privacy of your head, heart,
and home. Thanks, Gretchen Stewart
