Alturas

Dear Vision2020:

The Alturas discussion has been excellent and very enlightening. The
side issue of our local governments' responsiveness to ordinary citizens
vs. special interests has been particularly interesting to me, since it
seems that politicians and government institutions are uncomfortable
with citizen involvement, preferring to work with a recognized group of
familiar faces. I hope that citizen forums, like this one, will help
change this.

But, where are the responses to the Alturas questions from our local
pols? I, for one, would very much like to hear from elected officials --
those I can vote for or against -- about this. So far, I have been
deafened by their silence.
