Not too long ago I heard about (might have read
something on this list) the City of Moscow's intention
to organize a neighborhood emergency support network
of sorts (ala Y2K).
As I recall the city was looking for volunteers to be
the contact person in their particular neighborhood,
an individual who would go about and introduce
themselves to everyone in the neighborhood between now
and 12/31 and let all know that, in the event of a Y2K
emergency, this volunteer would be checking in with
neighbors to make sure they were alright and so forth.
Does anyone know if this is actually happening?
