Re: vision2020-digest Digest V99 #192

The Grand cities of Kooskia ,Kamiah, Grangeville , Lewiston and Clarkston and other Central Idaho towns are well serviced by US12 as well as other business, I can speak of my family's business (Lumber products)
We depend on US 12 highly with that being the more direct (economical) route from our Elk City , Grangeville facilities to our customers in Montana and Midwest. With the constant threat of losing our backbone (Railroads) highways like US12 will become more important in the future.

This is a great idea. We were recently up on the Lochsa and it is a beautiful
area but the large number of trucks rolling along the river was annoying.
Perhaps (although I doubt it) some would be more receptive to this with all
the
Lewis & Clark hoopla going on. I can't imagine that towns along that route
benefit that much from the truck traffic. How many of these trucks are bound
for the Port of Lewiston??

Thanks, Charles.
