Serial Cat Killer

Visionaries:
After reading a story about our recent cat killings, on vision 2020 this
weekend posted by "T&E", I felt it was necessary to reply. "T&E" stated "the
police don't seem to be doing anything". Nothing could be farther from the
truth. From the very first cat found we have taken this case very seriously
and have expended considerable resources investigating each and every case.
We have two detectives working on this case in conjunction with a very
active citizen group and veterinarians.

This is a very disturbing case and one that we will continue to work until
it is solved.

It must be pointed out however, that evidence at the scene of these crimes
is very scarce and we have very few clues to follow. This is why we must
view this situation as a community problem and enlist the help of all
community members for assistance. Realizing that the police are limited in
number, we request all citizens to assist by becoming our eyes and ears and
forward all bits of information to us for analysis and further
investigation. By working together I believe we can solve this case and
bring who ever is responsible to justice.

I must also point out that our local paper has been very good to work with
and have been responsive to writing articles about this problem. I spoke
with staff writer Nina Staszkow this morning and she is currently working on
another article. She has written many articles already as well as entries in
the cops logs.

I request citizens to keep their cats inside whenever possible and watch for
any suspicious activity or individuals. Please call the Moscow Police
Department with any additional questions, ideas, or concerns.

Dan Weaver
Chief of Police
Moscow Police Department
