Re: Daily News letters

Dear Ry,

To run for City COuncil you will need to take out a petition and obtain
signatures (40 registered city voters minimum, I think). The timing for the
petition access is usually pick them up after Labor Day and file during a
seven day period in late September/early October. The EXACT and accurate
details of this can be had from Moscow's city clerk Gib Myers (soon to be
replaced by Chris Bainbridge because of Gib's imminent move to Seattle and
new challenges... sigh...we'll miss him more than we can say!) at CIty Hall.

People intending to run usually announce sometime in late August or early
September to heighten their name recognition and allow some conversation
about important Moscow issues.

I can be reached for further information at 882-1280 (home) or 882-7255
(office) where you can leave a message and I'll try to get back to you soon.

All the best to all the civic minded who might think of a great job like
CIty COuncil membership!
