Old Topic...Re-Discovered

I know this is old...but it's taken me awhile to get around to reading
all the posts on this topic.

Mr. Abbott raised the above question.

My question is why indeed AREN'T there dogs trained to roam about and
detect gunshots or screams or spousal abuse or child abuse or
assault/battery (all usually related to the legal drug alcohol) or
trained to detect alcohol itself in cars, lockers etc.? Why indeed
are the dogs only trained to only detect illicit substances that
individuals make a private, personal decision to ingest?

Why isn't there a Quad-Cities Violence Task Force or Child Abuse Task
Force or Hate Crimes Task Force? How about a Missing Persons Task
Force?! Why doesn't the current Quad Cities Drug Task Force also
concern itself with the abuse of legal drugs like alcohol, the drug
that overwhelmingly wreaks the most havoc and destruction on our
society?

Why?
