I write as a concerned citizen regarding the proposed pool bid. I am
thankful the
city has found a low bid for the demolition of Ghormley Pool. However, this
cost should
not be included in the bidding process for the NEW pool nor should any money
from the
bond be used for this purpose. This is a real expense the city must pay out
of operating
funds.
This may seem like nitpicking, but $30,000 spent on demolishing the old pool is
money that won't be spent on the new facility. If the bond hadn't passed how
would the
city have funded the demolition? Dan J Schmidt
