Re: Optional Forms of Government
Lets see now, on the one hand I can have elected officials making partisan
decisions to get re-elected, and on the other hand I can have a "good ole
boy" system of appointed officials where competency is not an issue. In
the first system, if partisan discussions get out of hand, I can always
vote for someone else. In the second system, the county payroll is
inhabited by commissioners nephews who need a paycheck, or positions are
awarded based on political promises. All in all, I prefer the first
option.
