>While I'm at it--kudos to Pullman which decided to build a $1 million skate
>park with the attitude "Hey--it's a good idea; people will fund it."
Just an observation...on Monday night, I believe, there is an open meeting
at which the Citizen's Task Force on Youth Recreation will report out with
its recommendation on what's lacking and needed in Moscow for our teens.
Some folks on this task force have urged keeping the current pool issues
and decisions separate from the task force issues and recommendations. I
feel that with the limited public resources in this community, we need to
address recreation needs in a more integrated fashion, i.e. the pool
decision should, indeed, be part of any community decision on facilities
for teens.
I also applaud the approach that Pullman seems to have taken on their
trailhead/skating facilities, similar to the Chipman Trail approach; that
if someone leads with the assertion that "We're Going to Do This!", people
in these communities rally with the resources (both time and money).
