Ach so--that explains that little blurb.  I think that 'cooperation'
in this case also means the school of comm funds the
reporter/instructor position at UI.  Is this still held by Maggie
Kreidler?  (Here is a possible explanation for the Oregon news
content: the person who had this position before--Lee Garnett--now
works at Oregon Public Broadcasting.  Seems a lot of the OR stories 
come from OPB/Lee.  I guess I can't really blame Dale for utilizing 
an easy source of semi-'regional' news stories.)
