I understand that KRFA is now part of a regional network, which spreads
operating costs over a larger area. But I don't understand why "regional"
means that we're bombarded with *local* Tri-Cities news... and "state"
news is almost always Washington!
I'm especially frustrated at the failure to cover Moscow-Pullman news even
if it has regional significance. Case in point: Missoula Mayor Dan Kemmis'
visit last October as part of the Tale of Two Cities series. NWPR couldn't
cover it because Dale Harrison was tied up with the fall pledge drive --
the inevitable consequence of using news reporters as pitchmen.
For another perspective on the slighting of north Idaho, check out Jim Fisher's
column in the Sunday Lewiston Tribune about the slow death of KUID-TV.
Finally, congratulations to the Daily News and Tribune for outstanding
coverage of the floods in words and photos.
