This may be lame, but I think the reason it failed to get 2/3 is
because it is virtually impossible to achieve that under any circumstance
in our current political (apolitical) climate.  We are a polarized
people locally, statewide, and nationally.  In an ordinary election,
some would have called yesterday's results a landslide victory.  Yet it
our convoluted democratic process it was a defeat.  If I shared the
minority perspective, I am confident I would defend this form of minority
rule.
What are the chances of trying again, albeit at the loss of $500,000?
