As a former DN advisory board member, I firmly believe that it
is a real public relations joke. Don't waste your time with them.
They try hard, and actually often have good substantive ideas, comments,
and recommendations. But Randy cordially responds by giving lip
service to those issues, and then proceeds to go about his business
the way he sees fit. The effect of the advisory board is superficial.
Any signficant challenges simply wind up making the challenger an
enemy of Randy's.
I especially like the idea of a Coalition for a Better Newspaper. I think
it will have broad "multi-partisan" appeal. In fact, I don't know a
single resident in either community who DOESN'T want a better newspaper.
Wouldn't it be cool to have a coalition that everyone wants to coalesce
with? We could be an organization of 40,000 strong!
I'm in.
Susan
