The Idaho Draft plan for public transportation has been completed and is
now available for public comment. It includes a statewide section and
district sections for all six trans districts, including northcentral.
Goals of northcentrals are,
1) meet the needs of the transit dependent population(those without
access to private vehicles)
2) publicizee available services
3) provide transit which reduces the overal demands on the transpo.
system, (i.e. congestion reduction, parking etc)
4) stablize funding levels
5) improves environmental quality
6) enhances inter-modality
7) coordianation and consolidation to the maximum extent
that in very brief are the goals of the plan. for a copy of the plan,

Apublic meeting discussing the plan will be held in Lewiston on Wenzday,
Aug 30,
a brief presentation will be made to the Palouse Human Needs council,
Thurs, Aug 31, Latah courthouse, 12:45 (or so)
presentation to the Latah AARP, Sept. 22
