Sorry I was unable to attend the last meeting, but I am pleased that the
idea of public involvement through contests has surfaced again.
Some unfiltered suggestions--
1. Why Pullman and Moscow? As Moscow Vision 2020, I thought our
focus was specifically Moscow.
2. Why disposable cameras? (one of the more disgusting aspects of
throw-away society) Instead, perhaps Western One-hour would provide
consistent enlargements of snapshots/slides etc. comparing a board full
of 5X7's would be easy.
3. Would this photo contest result in ignoring the macro level of
planning Moscow? Photos of streets and buildings would not focus
interest on the bigger issues of sprawl, etc.
4. Using the huge crowds of Farmers Market is very good.
However, that means getting the contest going soon to take advantage of
the summer crowds.
5. I am open to coordinating the contest, if the questions about
the shape and goals of the contest are resolved at the next meeting.
