Stephen Kellert Lecture



Stephen Kellert Lecture

Stephen Kellert will lecture on "Human Values of Nature and
Sustainability
in the Built Environment on Thursday, April 8, at 7:00 PM in Niccols 6.
The lecture is sponsored by the Department of Landscape Architecture as
part
of the Graham Foundation "Issues for the Emerging Landscape" Lecture
Series. Professor Kellert is a professor at the Yale University
School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.  Much of Professor
Kellert's work has focused on the value of biodiversity and its
conservation.   His over 100 publications include "Kinship to Mastery:
Biophilia in Human Development and Evolution"; "The Value of Life:
Biological Diversity in Human Society";"The Biophilia Hypothesis" (with
E.
O. Wilson) and "Ecology, Economics, Ethics: The Broken Circle".

A reception sponsored by the UI Student Chapter of the American Society
of
Landscape Architects will follow in Room 206 Art and Architecture.
