Re: Friends of the Library

Yesterday the Friends of the Library posted a message regarding a recent
problem they had with the US Postal Service. The rules and regulations
regarding Bulk Mail acceptance in general are numerous and complex. The
granting a non profit status to any group is part of this complex rule
structure.
The employee mentioned in the FOL post is a wonderful, hard working
individual who would not knowingly do what the FOL accused them of. The
employee, knowing the complexity of the rules, referred the matter to the
specialists in Spokane. These specialists confirmed the employee's decision
regarding the status of FOL.
Unfortunately the Friends of the Library, rather than complain about the
rule structure, (which happened in C'DA around two months ago over almost
the exact same issue), chose to publicly vilify the employee, an employee
that was simply doing the job required by the Postal Service.
In my humble opinion, the Friends of the Library owe both a private, and a
very public, apology to the affected employee as soon as possible.
