Just to clarify, I believe the pool committee made a
"recommendation" to the City Council. The City
Council is making the same "recommendation" to
the voters. The voters will make the "decision."
I believe some prospective voters are feeling rubbed
the wrong way when they hear that the decision is
already made. At each level, people (committee
members, council members, citizens) must be persuaded
(not coerced) that this is the right decision.
I am somewhat of a purest when it comes to democratic
debate and process. In my experience, democracy works.
I suspect that you and I agree on that.
