But wait a minute....

Though I usually tend to agree with Don on most of his postings, I do
have to take a slightly different path here.
Upon reading the posting concerning the 4 Moscow officers I didn't
immediately think 'they must be guilty'. I thought it possible it could
be true. In a world where 11 and 13-yr. olds shoot their classmates in
the school yard, almost anything seems possible today. And I'm willing
to bet that Chief Weaver did a bit of checking before he posted his
denial....just in case.
Leaving aside the original posting, I find our responses more
interesting. They seem to range from 'we can do better' to 'let's bury
this issue and get back to upbeat visionary topics' to dire reminders of
tort law.
By all means, let's ignore questions of police/community relations that
may have lead to such a posting. Let's ignore the perception that there
is no way to distinguish fact from rumor in this community. And let's all
watch every word we say-- nevermind that most of us slander a friend,
neighbor, boss, surly store clerk and at least 10 electronic devices on a
daily basis.
We don't need to be visionary here. Everything is fine already. And all
the kids are above average.
