HUD Grant

Visionaires:   I received a call today from Karen Cloud.   She had just
received the news that
HUD has approved a $650,000 grant to build a complex for mentally disabled
adults in Moscow.
The grant would provide funding for 13 apartments and room for a complex
manager.  This is
excellent news.

Nancy Johansen deserves major credit in her leadership and persistence in
re-submitting the grant
to HUD.   The Stepping Stones Board of Directors has been working since the
early 1990's
to get approval of such a grant.   They worked with Mercy Hospital of Boise
in development
of the grant.   This was the only grant approved for Idaho.

This grant will fullfill a very important need in Moscow.
