A delightful thought experiment occurs to me -- trying to explain to
James Madison that mandatory tops for women was unconstitutional. I like
to imagine our former president's eyes getting as big as saucer
plates.
One might imagine the eyes of Mr. Ben Franklin and Mr. Thomas Jefferson
getting equally wide, for entirely different reasons. Quite a
strange lot of gents were part of the framing of the Constitution, and we
are likely the better for the variety.
