vision2020
Re: Edmund Burke
Douglas, Saundra, et. al
Confusion indeed, dear Douglas, like the confusion induced by the numerous
times you have totally altered subject headings when responding in a debate
on vision2020, thus rendering it problematic for others to follow the
dialog.
Ms. Lund's Burke quote is reasonable. Her use of this quote does not have
to imply she endorses every thought or action the man ever indulged.
I often quote what the New Testament asserts are the teachings of Jesus
Christ, for their wise ethical advice. But I am not a Christian, I do not
buy into the "hoo-hah" about Christ being God, any mystical Trinity, the
second coming, or the "chosen ones" such as yourself who claim to have the
ultimate interpretation of the Bible endorsed by the one true God, when
legitimate representatives and scholars of Christianity, who also claim to
have said endorsement, disagree on exactly how to interpret the Bible on
many critical issues.
I might even quote you, Douglas, but why should that imply we agree most of
the time on most issues? If Ms. Lund likes the Burke quote, so what? Again
it does not mean she agrees with everything about the man.
Your cause will be served better by avoiding nit picking about a
inspirational quote someone sends with their e-mail.
