Re: curious about the vote

Pam Hamlet was the lone dissenter regarding the nudity ordinance.
Those who supported it were John Guyer, Mike Thomason, JoAnn Mack, Jack
Hill, and Steve Busch.
Feel free to email them and let them know what you think:

Our mayor, Marshall Comstock, is at
comstock@moscow.com

Keep in mind that we were not allowed to testify regarding this ordinance at
the city council meeting when they passed the law.

Keep in mind that this ordinance likely will be challenged in court.
Similar laws have been overturn in other places, including New York State,
which found their topfree laws to be unconstitutional. Why should we waste
our taxdollars to defend such a law?

Keep in mind that this ordinance sweeps onto private property. A woman who
exposes her breasts in public view, including her home if it is open to
public view, faces a $500 fine or 6 months in jail.

Keep in mind that certain apparel is now illegal if the sides of breasts are
shown.

Keep in mind that "plumber's butt" is now illegal. You can't show the cleft
of your buttucks.

Keep in mind that even Pullman does not have such an extreme law. Their's
deal with lewd behaviour rather than strict appearance.

Keep in mind that we can put this to a public vote. We have about 2 weeks
left to collect the rest of the 2300 signatures of registered voters in the
city of Moscow.

Keep in mind that we need your support in order to put this to a public
vote. If you'ld like a petition to pass around, let us know
