COMMUNITY BOOK CLUB: September meeting
The Moscow Community Book Club, sponsored by the Friends of the Moscow
Library, will hold its September discussion on Thursday, September 26, at
7:00 p.m. in the Moscow Library.
This month's selection is the 2002 Pulitzer Prize-winning book Empire
Falls, by Richard Russo. This novel is an unforgettable portrait of one
man's struggle to survive the joy and heartache of small-town life in
Maine while dealing with his dead-end job, teenage daughter, soon-to-be
ex-wife, and the formidable widow who controls what's left of the town's
struggling economy.
The Community Book Club is open to all. Copies of the book are available
through any library of the Latah County Library District. Bookpeople also
offers Community Book Club participants a 20% discount on the purchase of
each month's title. For more information contact Chris at 882-3925.
