"...Kids, what's the matter with Kids today..."

Guys:

Sheesh! Isn't anyone on Vision 2020 a History major like me? Lighten
up on the kids, will you? Sure, we have problems with permissive
parents, and "latchkey kids" both of whose parents, or with a single
parent that works, but kids are pretty much kids, and always have been.
In Cheops' pyramid there is a set of hiroglyphs that reads, in effect,
"The Youth of Egypt are Going to Hell."

You know what? Kids are rebellious. Know what else? Unless they get
runned over by a truck, they eventually grow up. Mark Twain once said,
"When I was 16 I though my Old Man was the stupidest man in the world.
When I became 21 I was amazed to see how much he had learned in 5
years!"

I have former students, a handful in their junior high school years, who
now have PhD's in esoteric disciplines, and are pretty nice people.

Trust me, I am a teacher, I know this.

Regards,

Don Kaag
