All,
Tim Kinkeade, who was instrumental in starting CQE, and is on the CQE
steering committee, is running for the school board zone 1 position. The
position was unopposed until last Tuesday, which was the deadline for
write-in candidates to apply to the school district. With the registration
of Mark Beauchamp on Tuesday, there is now a two-way race.
Until now, Mark hasn't said anything about how he feels about the school
district. The only things I know about him are that he is graduating from
the New St. Andrew's College here in Moscow, and that his bid for candidacy
was signed by the following people:
Doug Wilson
Roy Atwood
Christine Lamoureaux
Patricia Miller
Rachael Wilson
Bonnie Pott
Jennie Church
I just heard that there is an article in today's Lewiston paper about the 2
candidates, which will hopefully be informative.
In case you've missed the information in the paper about Kinkeade, his
campaign brochure is within the CQE website:
http://www.moscowcqe.com/kinkeadeBrochE.PDF
The CQE website itself: http://www.moscowcqe.com/
has more info on the election, including a map of zone 1.
I hope this information is useful to all of you and that any of you in
zone 1 will vote on May 21st, or that you will encourage people in zone 1
to vote! The election (Tuesday, May 21st) is from 8am--8pm at the Moscow
School District Office (corner of F and Cleveland near the Junior High).
In general, Zone One includes the Northeast part of town. It lies north
of D Street and east of Main. But it also includes the area north of
Sixth Street between Main and Van Buren. And it includes a rural area
northeast of the city limits, roughly bounded by Highway 95, Foothill
Road, West Twin Road, Frink Road, Lyon Road, Robinson Park Road, and Darby
Road.
Each elementary school has maps of the zones. If you need to find out what
zone you live in, you can also call:
