I do not recall the strings program as being listed as something that would
be cut prior to the levy election, and can't help wondering why it is being
cut now.
However, if I was a parent of a Junior High strings student, I would
consider telling the Junior High that my student would not be attending the
JH until the start of the third period, and use that morning time for my
student's string instruction. If I could find twenty other like minded
parents, then we could have a strings class at 8:30am five days a week, and
not at the Junior High. The resulting loss of state funding for twenty
students, two periods per day, all year, would probably exceed the $5000
cost of the program at the Junior High.
